The data collection phase of the study has been completed in the longitudinal pilot study of NBA G League players, according to a GE Health news release. The study is the first-of-its kind to try quantifying the effect of playing, training and rest over a professional basketball season.

A combination of wearable technology and advanced imaging were used to assess platers. Ultrasound shear wave elastography was also used to analyze functional changes in the patellar tendon, which has the potential to identify risk factors of tendinopathy onset.
