The outpatient share of hip replacements also grew past 60%, the report said. That figure in 2019 was 1.2%.

Overall the share of outpatient procedures grew from 34% in January 2019 to 45% in March 2024. The report includes data from 473 hospitals in hip and knee procedure analyses.
