Medscape has named the 15 best cities for physicians and surgeons to retire in 2024, taking into consideration factors including the cultural scene, year-round weather, living costs, access to healthcare and outdoor recreational activities. 

Orthopedic surgeon Steven Pennington, MD, has rejoined Moscow, Idaho-based Inland Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine Clinic, according to a Sept. 9 report from Big Country News.

The highest paid orthopedic surgeon in Washington, D.C., earns $1,172,700, according to Medscape's salary reporter tool, which is much higher than the mean annual wage of $378,250 orthopedic surgeons make according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
