The Center for Advanced Orthopedic Surgery, a collaboration between Ortho Rhode Island and South County Health, earned The Joint Commission’s advanced certification for total hip and knee replacements.
The center received the certification for its patient education and prehabilitation program, which is designed to prepare patients physically and mentally for surgery, as well as support faster, safer recoveries, according to an Aug. 20 news release from South County Health.
The commission’s evaluation process measures programs, centers and facilities against evidence-based clinical quality standards.
