Jacksonville, Fla.-based Nemours Children’s Health has named Eduardo Novais, MD, chair of its orthopedics department, according to an Aug. 8 system release.
Dr. Novais will lead orthopedic and sports medicine services at Nemours Children’s Health, Jacksonville, and provide surgical care at Wolfson Children’s Hospital, also in Jacksonville. He will also serve as the Nemours Endowed Chair for Advanced Orthopedics.
He joins Nemours from the Child and Young Adult Hip Preservation Program at Boston Children’s Hospital. Dr. Novais earned his medical degree from Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, completed his residency at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, and is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He completed fellowships at the University of Utah, Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., and Boston Children’s Hospital.
In his enterprisewide role, Dr. Novais will focus on expanding clinical programs, advancing research into practice and fostering collaboration in pediatric orthopedic care and education across Nemours’ network.
