Florida hospital completes 1st robotic knee surgery

Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach,Fla., has completed its first robotic-assisted total knee replacement using Johnson & Johnson’s Velys robot.

The procedure was performed by orthopedic surgeon Brian Hatten, MD, of the Orthopedic Clinic in Daytona Beach, according to a March 4 news release. 

The Velys system provides personalized alignment and precision during joint replacement procedures by using real-time data and digital tools.
