Dr. Gersten also ran a volunteer clinic in Honduras and saw about 100 patients a day, according to the Orange County Register.
“The patients were very appreciative,” he told the paper. “My daughter and I gained new respect for what we have and how little people around the world have, but can still be happy and lead productive lives.”
Dr. Gerstein completed his orthopedic residency at Los Angeles County-USC Hospital and is currently the medical director of the Saddleback Hospital Joint Replacement Program.
