Dr. Charles Blitzer publishes article on hip arthroscopy: 5 key notes

Seacoast Orthopedics & Sports Medicine orthopedic surgeon Charles Blitzer, MD, and a colleague at the University of New Hampshire published an article about arthroscopic management of synovial osteochondromatosis of the hip in the June 2015 issue of Orthopedics, according to a Foster’s report.

1. The article reports on hip arthroscopy methods for synovial osteochondromatosis of the hip, a rare, benign condition involving synovium.

 

2. Dr. Blitzer previously served on the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Board of Councilors. He was also the past president of the New Hampshire Medical Society.

 

3. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Blitzer is a professor in the department of kinesiology at the University of New Hampshire.

 

4. Dr. Blizer has been recognized for his humanitarian work and he regularly travels overseas to help disadvantaged populations. He has a special interest in trauma and fracture surgery as well as arthroscopic procedures.

 

5. Dr. Blitzer earned his medical degree at Boston University and completed a residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Vermont and Montreal Children’s Hospital/McGill University.
