Here are five things to know about Dr. Pollak:
1. He is a professor of orthopedics at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He is the chair of the orthopedic surgery department and chief of orthopedics for the University of Maryland Medical System.
2. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Pollak is the treasurer for the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and past president of the Maryland Orthopaedic Association. He is the co-chair for the Majority Extremity Trauma Research Consortium.
3. Dr. Pollak serves as medical director of the Baltimore County Fire Department and Special Deputy US Marshal.
4. Throughout his career, Dr. Pollak has conducted research and published articles in professional journals, including JAMA.
5. Dr. Pollak earned his medical degree at Northwestern University School of Medicine. He completed additional training at Case Western Reserve University/University Hospitals of Cleveland Program and a fellowship in orthopedic traumatology at the University of California Davis Medical Center.
