Detroit Medical Center names Dr. Khaled Saleh chief of orthopedics, sports medicine: 4 things to know

Detroit Medical Center named Khaled J. Saleh, MD, executive-in-chief of the DMC Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine service line.

Here are four things to know:

 

1. Dr. Saleh joins DMC from the Southern Illinois School of Medicine in Springfield where he served as chairman of orthopedic surgery and director for clinical and translational research.

 

2. Dr. Saleh is known for his expertise in adult reconstruction and joint replacement.

 

3. He has authored or co-authored more than 300 scientific publications and six textbooks.

 

4. He completed two fellowships in joint replacement — one at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Toronto, Canada and another at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City.
