Here’s how four orthopedic MSOs developed in the first quarter of 2025.
1. Long Island, N.Y.-based pain management physician Timothy Groth, MD, has partnered with private equity group Confluence Healthcare Partners and Skyline Investors to form a new physician management services organization.
2. Portland, Maine-based Spectrum Orthopaedics rebranded to Orthopaedic Associates of Maine and joined management services organization Growth Orthopedics. Orthopaedic Associates of Maine has 14 physicians and 175 support staff. Its affiliated ASC is also included in the rebrand. With Growth Orthopedics, the practice will remain independent while benefitting from the MSO’s resources.
3. U.S. Orthopaedic Partners named James Woodall Jr., MD, PhD, chair of its board of directors, and Stephen Samelson, MD, was named chair of the physician board. Dr. Woodall is a spine surgeon at Jackson-based Mississippi Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center. Dr. Samelson is an orthopedic surgeon at Montgomery-based Southern Orthopaedic Surgeons.
4. United Musculoskeletal Partners added Audrey Grolig as chief people officer. Ms. Grolig has previous experience in human resources at Pediatric Associates, Cancer Treatment Centers of America and as an independent consultant, according to her LinkedIn profile.
