Texas hospital opens dedicated neurosciences unit — 3 insights

Memorial Hermann The Woodlands (Texas) Medical Center opened a dedicated Neurosciences Comprehensive Patient Care Unit to centralize its 24/7 neurological care offerings, Woodlands Online reports.

What you should know:

1. Hospital CEO Josh Urban said the hospital decided to consolidate its neurological care services into one location to better serve patients.

2. Memorial Hermann also installed an epilepsy monitoring unit, which Mr. Urban believes is among the first in Montgomery County.

3. The neurological unit includes a 12-bed neuro-intensive care unit, specially designed beds for spine injuries and an eight-bed epilepsy unit. The entire space is 30,000 square feet.
