Here are five key points:

1. Under the partnership, SOS orthopedic surgeons and staff will work with Oswego Health’s orthopedic team.

2. Surgeons will provide office visits at the Oswego Health Services Center and conduct surgeries in Oswego Hospital’s surgery center.

3. Equipped with 28 orthopedic surgeons, SOS specializes in knees, hips, hands, upper extremities, feet, ankle and spine.

4. SOS expects to use Oswego Health facilities starting this summer.

5. Oswego Health has one independent orthopedic surgeon as well as two employed orthopedic surgeons on staff.

“We realize that in order to continue to be successful in offering orthopedic care, we needed to enhance our services,” said President and CEO Chuck Gijanto, Oswego Health. “Gone are the days of a single orthopedic provider or a small practice. Specialization has become the norm and it’s what the patient expects. So, this collaboration brings that level of care conveniently to Oswego.”
