Here are four insights:
1. Sen. Christopher Coons, D-Del., told MSNBC that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., will likely “take some time” with the legislation, during an interview on Morning Joe.
2. Mr. Coons continued, even if Mr. McConnell passes a bill through the Senate, he will likely send it to conference with the House, which “will go on a very long time and we won’t actually see a final product until after the ’18 elections.”
3. He is encouraged that Senate Republicans will work with Democrats to craft a suitable bill, once a Congressional Budget Office score lays out total costs.
4. The House passed the American Health Care Act with a 217 to 213 vote on May 4. No Democrats voted in favor of the legislation.
