Cleveland Clinic taps Dr. Brian Donley to serve as CEO of Cleveland Clinic London: 5 things to know

Cleveland Clinic elected orthopedic surgeon Brian Donley, MD, to assume the role of CEO of the health systems new London location, effective immediately.

Here are five things to know:

 

1. Dr. Donley serves as chief of staff and chief of clinical operations at Cleveland Clinic. He will continue serving these roles until a successor is appointed.

 

2. Throughout his career at Cleveland Clinic, Dr. Donley served various leadership roles, including president of regional hospitals and family health centers. He also worked as professor at the health system’s medical school.

 

3. As CEO of Cleveland Clinic London, Dr. Donley will direct strategy and operations, guide recruitment and spearhead the opening of the 200-bed private facility, being built near Buckingham Palace.

 

4. Cleveland Clinic’s new hospital will be six stories and 198,000 square feet and it’ll be the health system’s first facility in London. The London location is predicted to open in late 2020.

 

5. With 200 inpatient beds and eight operating rooms, Cleveland Clinic London will also be equipped with a full imaging suite, endoscopy and catheterization labs and a full neurological suite.
