Barnes-Jewish Hospital opens 44-bed neuro-ICU

St. Louis-based Barnes-Jewish Hospital opened a its neuro-critical care unit, which features 44 beds, according to KMOV.

The facility is for patients recovering from neurosurgery or conditions like stroke or epilepsy.

It features 24 private ICU rooms. Each patient room features a family zone and portable CT scanners are available on each floor.

Barnes-Jewish Hospital is the flagship hospital of the St. Louis-based BJC HealthCare and serves as the main teaching hospital of Washington University in St. Louis.
