The report includes responses from 1,200 physicians, 30 percent of whom are primary care physicians and 76 percent of whom are specialists.
When asked if their practice uses an outside billing service, respondents reported the following:
• No — 76 percent (this up 12 percent from 64 percent in 2012)
• Yes — 16 percent (this is down 11 percent from 27 percent in 2012)
• I don’t know — 8 percent (this is down 1 percent from 9 percent in 2012)
