$5M given to Connecticut hospital to develop neuroscience program

Greenwich (Conn.) Hospital received a $5 million gift to establish The Jean and David W. Wallace Medical Director Neurovascular Surgery Program, according to a July 12 report by Greenwich Time.

Three things to know:

1. Neurosurgeon Akli Zetchi, MD, will serve as medical director of the program.

2. The program will treat patients with stroke, spinal cord injuries and brain tumors, among other neurologic conditions.

3. Greenwich Hospital is a 206-bed community hospital and is part of Yale New Haven (Conn.) Health.
