Google Glass is, essentially, an Android smartphone, capable of running Android apps, built into a pair of glasses.

The five ways in which they help physicians and caregivers are:

1. They can help ensure the right dose of the right medication is given to the right patient and at the right time.
2. They can help ensure detailed clinical documentation as every audio/visual cue that the clinician sees and hears will be recorded.
3. They can give physicians access to an entire emergency department dashboard (in the form of visual cues), which will help them make evidence-based decisions faster.
4. They can provide clinicians with decision support, such as a decision tree that incorporates optimal doses of medications and vital signs.
5. They can provide clinicians with instant alerts and reminders.
