Timothy Kremchek, MD, founding partner of Beacon Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine in Cincinnati, is stepping down as the head team physician and chief orthopedic surgeon for the Cincinnati Reds Major League Baseball team following a 27-year tenure. 

The Orlando (Fla.) Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute welcomed the first patients to its new downtown complex March 27.

In Los Angeles, the most expensive city for physicians to live in, orthopedic surgeons who have been practicing for eight to 14 years make an average of $422,099 annually, according to Medscape's salary explorer. 

Orthopedic surgeons earn more than general surgeons in some states, including Alabama, but less in other states, including California, according to 2022 salary data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics and Zippia.
