Spine surgeons on the move in March

Becker’s reported on multiple spine surgeons who joined new practices or added to their titles during March.

Note: This is not an exhaustive list.

1. Box Butte General Hospital in Alliance, Neb., added Lonnie Loutzenhiser, MD.

2. Spine surgeon Todd Albert, MD, was named chief medical officer for Legent Health, an owner and operator of orthopedic ASCs and surgical hospitals.

3. HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital in Fort Pierce added Oszkar Szentirmai, MD.

4. Southwest Medical Center in Liberal, Kan., is adding spine surgeon Zak Ibrahim, MD.

5. David Matusz, MD, has joined New York City-based Spine Associates of NYC.

6. Archbold Neurology/Neurosurgery in Thomasville, Ga., added spinal neurosurgeon Griffin Baum, MD.

7. Vijay Yanamadala, MD, was appointed vice chair of neurosurgery for the Fairfield Region at Hartford (Conn.) HealthCare’s Ayer Neuroscience Institute.

8. Ali Ravanpay, MD, PhD, has been named program director of Seattle-based University of Washington’s neurological surgery residency program.

9. Michael Kelly, MD, has joined the spine division in Stanford (Calif.) Medicine’s department of orthopedic surgery, according to a March 31 LinkedIn post.

10. Stavropoula Tjoumakaris, MD, has been appointed chair of the neurosurgery department at Jefferson Neurosurgery, part of Philadelphia-based Jefferson Health, according to a March 31 LinkedIn post.

11. Franklin Lee, DO, joined the practice of Marc Agulnick MD.
