Stavropoula Tjoumakaris, MD, has been appointed chair of the neurosurgery department at Jefferson Neurosurgery, part of Philadelphia-based Jefferson Health, according to a March 31 LinkedIn post.
Dr. Tjoumakaris previously served as interim chair and holds multiple leadership roles, including director of the endovascular and cerebrovascular neurosurgery fellowship program and neurosurgery clerkship program. She is also a professor of neurological surgery.
She completed her medical degree at Jefferson Medical College and both residency and fellowship training at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.
