Here are five spine devices making their debuts so far in the second half of the year.
1. Aurora Spine’s Aero lumbar fusion system was debuted in its initial surgeries. The minimally invasive procedures using Aero were completed by an orthopedic surgeon and interventionalist.
2. Stephen Courtney, MD, founder of Eminent Spine, completed the first case using the company’s 3D-printed pedicle screw system.
3. Wenzel Spine’s panaSIa expandable sacroiliac joint fusion system is available in a limited U.S. launch, and the first cases were completed with the system.
4. Foundation Surgical’s Interwedge standalone lateral spine system was debuted at Reading (Pa.) Hospital. The Interwedge is designed to be a versatile and stable option for lateral interbody fusions.
5. Pediatric spine surgeons Kent Walker, DO, and Richard McCarthy, MD, debuted OrthoPediatrics’ VerteGlide spinal growth guidance system in the U.S.
