Dr. Chelsey Durgin performs 1,000th surgery with Mako robot

Orthopedic surgeon Chelsey Durgin, MD, completed his 1,000th successful case with the Mako Surgical Robotic System, according to a Jan. 11 report by Tallahassee Reports.

Dr. Durgin joined Tallahassee (Fla.) Orthopedic Clinic in 2018 and specializes in knee and hip joint replacements.

The Mako robotic system allows orthopedic surgeons to increase precision and provide each patient with a customized surgery plan. 

Tallahassee Orthopedic Clinic performs nearly 3,000 joint replacement procedures each year, the report said.
