Dr. Michael Bisogno 1st to use surgical robot at New York hospital

Michael Bisogno, MD, performed the first hip replacement using a Mako robotic arm at Huntington (N.Y.) Hospital, Huntington Now reported on Nov. 3.

The Mako arm is used in hip and knee replacements. 

The patient will go through six to eight weeks of rehabilitation following the surgery according to the report.
