Illinois hospital earns BCBS certification for knee, hip replacement

Effingham, Ill.-based Hospital Sisters Health System St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital was recently designated as a Blue Distinction Center for Knee and Hip Replacement by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois, according to Effingham Radio.

The distinction recognizes facilities that provide optimum patient safety and outcomes in total knee and hip replacements, based on measures developed by BCBS.

St. Anthony’s has six orthopedic surgeons and offers Stryker’s Mako robotic arm for partial knee resurfacing as well as total hip and knee replacements, according to its website.

The hospital also earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for total knee, hip, and shoulder replacement.
