Four notes:
1. The new 13,000-square-foot surgery center is projected to cost $7 million.
2. Construction is expected to complete by the end of 2019, after which the Orthopaedic Surgery Center will relocate from its current facility at Akron (Ohio) Children’s Hospital.
3. The new surgery center will feature four operating rooms and three private, overnight suites.
4. “[The new facility is] going to have state-of-the-art equipment, which is used for the surgical procedures that we perform,” said Thomas Joseph, MD, vice president of the Orthopaedic Surgery Center. “It’s going to have state-of-the-art infection control and it’s going to have a more personalized private experience for the patients that are taken care of there.”
