Greenville, Ohio-based Wayne HealthCare is one of the first hospitals in the West Central Ohio and Dayton, Ohio regions to offer robotic-assisted knee replacements with Stryker's Mako System, according to The Daily Advocate.
Four things to know:
1. Designed to assist with surgical precision and planning, the Mako System uses a 3D model to create each patient's surgical plan preoperatively.
2. Wayne HealthCare will hold a community open house in March for attendees to see the Mako robot and tour the surgery center.
3. Orthopedic surgeon Chad Weber, DO, of Dayton-based Orthopedic Associates of Southwest Ohio, a partner of Wayne HealthCare, will meet with attendees and answer questions during the open house
4. "Orthopedic Associates of Southwest Ohio is excited to partner with Wayne HealthCare to be the first in the area to offer this transformative technology for knee replacements," Dr. Weber said. "Stryker's robotic-arm assisted application will allow implants to be precisely aligned, which will lead to great patient outcomes and longevity of knee replacements."
