Here are four things to know:

1. The flexible fixation device features a “spring-like design… to provide initial and continuous compression without the need to overtighten,” according to Kathy Stecco, MD, co-founder and CEO of Panther Orthopedics.

2. The nickel titanium implant is designed for syndesmosis fixation. It is intended to stabilize the syndesmosis providing resistance to displacement without creep and without over compressing the syndesmosis joint, permitting rotational motion.

3. Panther Orthopedics develops dynamic fixation solutions for orthopedic trauma and sports medicine applications.

4. The company closed on a series A investment round led by Medeon Biodesign in 2017.
