Former figure skater Dr. Kelsey Davidson expands Shriners Hospitals for Children’s sports medicine practice

Chicago-based Shriners Hospitals for Children orthopedic surgeon and former semi-professional figure skater Kelsey Davidson, MD, helped the hospital expand its sports medicine practice.

1. A pediatric orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Davidson specializes in sports medicine, stable fractures, cerebral palsy, hip dysplasia, limb length and gait discrepancies.

2. Dr. Davidson was a semi-professional figure skater, and in 2016, she served as a team physician for the U.S. Figure Skating Championships.

3. She is an American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Gait and Clinical Movement Analysis Society, Ruth Jackson Orthopaedic Society and American Orthopaedic Association’s Emerging Leaders Program member.

4. After earning her medical degree from Burlington-based University of Vermont, Dr. Davidson completed her residency at University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. She then underwent fellowship training in pediatric orthopedic surgery at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Scottish Rite hospital and neuromuscular pediatric orthopedic surgery at Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne, Australia.
