Dr. Patel is the spine service chief and clinical assistant professor of orthopedic surgery at Michigan Medicine. He received his medical degree from New York City-based New York University School of Medicine and underwent spine fellowship training at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in Madison.
Dr. Patel treats adult spine disorders, deformities and fractures, performing primary and salvage reconstructive surgery, kyphoplasty and minimally invasive surgical procedures. His research interests include spine trauma and the biomechanics of internal fixation of the spine. Dr. Patel’s research has been published in a variety of scientific journals.
