Baptist Health Miami Neuroscience Institute names spine surgery director

Baptist Health Miami Neuroscience Institute named Harel Deutsch, MD, director of spine surgery.

Dr. Deutsch specializes in minimally invasive spine surgery, motion preservation surgery and the treatment of failed back surgery syndrome, according to an Aug. 24 news release from the organization.

Before joining Baptist Health, Dr. Deutsch served as a professor of neurosurgery and co-director of the Rush Spine Center at Rush University in Chicago. He brings nearly three decades of experience and has written more than 100 peer-reviewed publications, book chapters and scientific presentations.

Baptist Health has 12 hospitals, more than 30,000 employees, 4,500 physicians and 200 outpatient centers, urgent care facilities and physician practices across Miami-Dade, Monroe, Broward and Palm Beach counties in Florida.
