Dr. Arle has a professional interest in neuromodulation, pain, neuroprosthetics, complex spine disorders and brain tumors. His research interests include computational modeling and analysis of neural circuitry and function, specifically with regard to the effects of electrical stimulation on the nervous system as well as developing novel implantable devices for interfacing with the nervous system.
Dr. Arle serves as an associate editor for Neurosurgery, and his work has been published in numerous journals, such as Journal of Neurosurgery and Movement Disorders. He has served as the principal investigator for numerous studies and trials. He is currently the principal investigator for the St Jude Empower Study — paddle lead therapy for back and leg pain.
Dr. Arle earned his medical degree at University of Connecticut School of Medicine in Farmington. He completed his neurological surgery residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. He has also completed a fellowship in epilepsy and movement disorder surgery at New York University Langone Medical Center.
