Dr. Heggeness has a wide array of clinical interests, including back injuries, head and neck disorders, internal fracture fixation, osteoporosis, spinal disorders and spinal fractures. He has earned several awards from professional organizations including the Cervical Spine Research Society. His work has been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals, such as Journal of Spinal Disorders, Spine and Journal of Orthopaedic Surgery and Research.
Dr. Heggeness received his medical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York. He has also completed an orthopedic spine surgery fellowship at the University of Toronto/Toronto General Hospital in Canada.
