Dr. Hynes is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and the American Board of Spine Surgeons. His clinical interests include cervical herniated discs, degenerative spinal disorders, head and neck disorder, lumbar degenerative disc disease, scoliosis and spinal fusion.
“It’s our duty to give patients their choice,” Dr. Hynes said in a Becker’s Spine Review article. “I’m not always smart enough to know what the best choice is for any one individual, but I’ve practiced many years and learned that if you take time to educate patients to all the reasonable options, they will make good decisions and take responsibility for them.”
Dr. Hynes earned his medical degree at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, previously known as Rutgers Medical School, in New Brunswick, N.J. He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu and completed a spine surgery fellowship at Harvard University in Boston.
