St. Louis Blues’ defenseman Carl Gunnarsson undergoes ACL repair surgery: 3 takeaways

Three St. Louis-based Washington University orthopedic surgeons performed ACL repair surgery on St. Louis Blues’ defenseman Carl Gunnarsson, the NHL reports.

Here are three things to know.

1. Rick Wright, MD, Matt Matava, MD, and Matt Smith, MD, repaired a tear in Mr. Gunnarsson’s left ACL at Washington University Orthopedic Center in Chesterfield, Mo.

2. Mr. Gunnarsson tore his ACL during the first period of the Blues’ 4 to 1 win over the Vancouver Canucks March 23.

3. Mr. Gunnarsson will be re-evaluated in six months.
