Mr. Martin graduated from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business in Bloomington, Ind., and is an advanced member of the Health Care Financial Management Association. In April, he was named to the Becker Orthopedic & Spine Review list of “18 Orthopedic and Spine Practice CEOs & Administrators to Know”.
Under Mr. Martin’s supervision in Sept. 2009, OrthoIndy broke ground on a new facility that will provide state-of-the-art, five-star orthopedic care to residents on the south side of Indianapolis. The facility is scheduled to open winter of 2010.
Mr. Martin recognizes that his orthopedic practice must function at the top of its game to survive in the current economic climate. “In the past, a practice could live on its reputation alone, and I don’t think you can do that anymore,” he told Becker’s Orthopedic & Spine Review. “You have to focus on operational excellence and patient satisfaction.”
To this end, Mr. Martin says OrthoIndy is exploring ways to provide patients total care within its facility. Instead of sending patients to other locations for medications and other ancillary services, OrthoIndy may install these services in-house. “We’re basically taking a look at everything we send a patient outside OrthoIndy for and looking at if there is a way to provide that ourselves,” he said.
