Three things to know:

1. Simpact is a cannulated and fenestrated screw intended for sacroiliac joint fusion for a lateral approach. It incorporates Life Spine’s proprietary surface technology Osseo-Loc, and it is available in several lengths to accommodate varying patient anatomy.

2. Dr. Maxwell is a board-certified orthopedic spine surgeon at Asheville, N.C.-based Southeastern Sports Medicine and Orthopedics and the principal investigator of the study.

3. Simpact features a self-drilling screw design intended to streamline the sacroiliac joint fixation procedure.
