Here are three highlights.
1. The Michael T. Strianese Charitable Foundation gifted the hospital $1 million. Along with building the surgery center, the donation is also to earmark for a robotic surgery lab.
2. Lahey Hospital and Medical Center plans to use the funds to advance research and training opportunities for clinicians and staff and acquire new technology.
3. The hospital has performed more than 4,800 robotic surgeries in the past 10 years.
