Here are five highlights:

1. Dr. Abbasi developed OLLIF, which utilizes a 1 cm incision to not disturb surrounding muscle tissues.

2. He discussed Inspired Spine’s study, “Oblique Lateral Lumbar Interbody Fusion (OLLIF): Technical Notes and Early Results of a Single Surgeon Comparative Study,” which compared OLLIF to open transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion.

3. The 124-patient study revealed surgeons performed OLLIF nearly twice as fast as open TLIF.

4. Additionally, OLLIF resulted in an 80 percent drop in blood loss, compared to TLIF.

5. So far, surgeons have performed more than 500 OLLIF procedures in America.
