Spine surgeon leader to know: Dr. Neal H. Shonnard of Rainer Orthopedic Institute

Neal H. Shonnard, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon for Rainer Orthopedic Institute. He specializes in spondylolisthesis, sciatica, fusion lumbar injection, scoliosis and spinal implants among many others.

Dr. Shonnard has composed several articles titled Orthopedic Extremity Trauma and Reconstruction, Experimental Neurosurgery and Spine Trauma Reconstruction. He has given various seminars at venues such as the Quarterly Update Spine Scoap registry and the Annual Spine SCOAP Forum.

 

 

The American Federation of Clinical Research granted Dr. Shonnard the Meritorious Research Award. Dr. Shonnard was also selected by the Western Pain Society as a “Leader in Exemplary Care for Those With Spine Pain.” His professional affiliations include Director of Spine SCOAP Registry, fellow for the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, North American Spine Society and the Society of Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery.

 

 

Dr. Shonnard attended medical school at the University of Nevada School of Medicine in Reno. He received orthopedic surgery training at the University of San Francisco and completed a spine surgery fellowship at Pennsylvania Hospital affiliated with Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia.
