Houston Methodist Hospital installs Mazor X: 4 notes

Houston Methodist Hospital purchased a Mazor X surgical assurance platform.

Here are four notes:

 

1. The hospital installed the system on April 20 for its spine program.

 

2. Paul Holman, MD, Houston Methodist’s spine surgery clinic director, performed the first procedure with the system in early May.

 

3. Mazor Robotics CEO Christopher Prentice commented the Mazor X system is intended “to better utilize clinical diagnostics and data in order to assist in the improvement of spine surgery.”

 

4. Houston Methodist encompasses seven hospitals, with physicians working on more than 800 clinical trials.
