Dr. William Raasch evaluates Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Jimmy Nelson; will miss rest of season

William Raasch, MD, evaluated Milwaukee Brewers’ pitcher Jimmy Nelson after he sustained an injury diving into first base Sept. 8, MLB.com reports.

Here’s what you should know:

 

1. Dr. Raasch diagnosed Mr. Nelson with a partially torn labrum and strained rotator cuff in his right shoulder. Mr. Nelson will miss the rest of the season.

 

2. Brewers’ General Manager David Stearns said the team is evaluating several treatment options, with surgery among them.

 

3. Dr. Raasch is the head team physician for the Milwaukee Brewers. He is also the head team physician for the Milwaukee Mustangs and two Wisconsin schools.

 

4. The Mid-American Orthopedic Association awarded Dr. Raasch its 1996-97 traveling fellowship.
