Dr. Peter Indelicato wins AOSSM’s 2016 Robert E. Leach Sports Medicine Leadership award: 5 notes

The American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine honored Peter A. Indelicato, MD, with the 2016 Robert E. Leach Sports Medicine Leadership award.

1. Dr. Indelicato is the former Wayne Huizenga Professor and chief emeritus of sports medicine at the University of Florida College of Medicine in Gainesville.

 

2. He has been an active member of the AOSSM and served as president in 2011. He is also a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Herodicus Society and Florida Orthopaedic Society.

 

3. He was the associate team physician for the Miami Dolphins.

 

4. He completed a sports medicine fellowship at Los Angeles-based Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic.

 

5. The Robert E. Leach Sports Medicine Leadership award is given annually to honor those who have made a significant contribution to the world of sports medicine.
