1. Dr. O’Malley examined Mr. Love’s MRI and toe at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City in late October.

2. Mr. Love said he first sustained the toe injury during the team’s preseason opener Oct. 2.

3. Following the injury, Mr. Love did not play again until the Cavaliers’ Oct. 17 game. He then played in four more games before ultimately taking time off to rest his toe as of Oct. 25.

4. On Nov. 2, the team announced Mr. Love’s surgery was successful, and he will now undergo treatment and rehabilitation. The All-Star forward’s timeline for returning will be updated in six weeks.

5. Dr. O’Malley specializes in foot and ankle surgery and is a team physician for the Brooklyn Nets and USA Basketball.
