3. Although Tommy John surgery looks like the most likely treatment option, Mr. May is seeking alternative methods, according to MLB Trade Rumors. MLB pitchers with similar injuries have opted for platelet-rich plasma injections, stem cell injections and primary repair surgeries in the past.
4. Mr. May’s injury is expected to sideline him for the entire MLB season.
