Here’s what you should know:
1. Dr. Andrews will be inducted into the Alabama Business Hall of Fame Nov. 9 in Birmingham.
2. Dr. Andrews is a founding partner of Gulf Breeze, Fla.-based Andrews Institute for Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine. He also founded the Andrews Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Center and the American Sports Medicine Institute, both located in Birmingham.
3. He is one of the leading orthopedic surgeons in the world, and his center is internationally recognized for its sports medicine treatment.
4. Dr. Andrews serves as president and chairman of the Andrews Research and Education Foundation.
5. He is the orthopedic medical director for the Tampa Bay Rays, medical director for Auburn (Ala.) University and national medical director for Champion Sports Medicine, Alabama’s largest sports medicine provider.
