1. The Marlins brought Dr. Andrews in to offer Mr. Garrett a second opinion on his partially torn ulnar collateral ligament. Dr. Andrews confirmed the diagnosis and performed the operation on June 20.

 

2. Dr. Andrews is a founding partner of Gulf Breeze, Fla.-based Andrews Institute for Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine. He is one of the leading orthopedic surgeons in the world, and his center is internationally recognized for its sports medicine treatment.

 

3. Dr. Andrews is the orthopedic medical director for the Tampa Bay Rays.
