DMC to occupy new $65M sports medicine center: 4 takeaways

The Detroit Medical Center is set to open a new sports medicine center next to Little Caesars Arena in 2020, according to the Detroit Free Press.

1. Construction on the new $65 million facility is expected to begin next year.

2. The DMC Sports Medicine Institute will be the main tenant of the five-story, 127,000-square-foot building. There is still space for other tenants to lease out offices.

3. With the added offices, DMC hopes to create 20 to 30 new jobs.

4. DMC is the official healthcare provider for the Detroit Red Wings and Detroit Tigers, a role it has held for the last 10-plus years.
