Here are four things to know:
1. Construction on the 60,000-square-foot Human Performance Center will begin this fall and is set to be complete December 2019.
2. The facility will feature a sports medicine clinic and therapy gym. The building will be also feature Athletic Republic, Avera’s sports performance training program.
3. A surgical hospital, medical building and addiction center are also in progress at the campus. All facilities are set to open by the end of 2019.
4. The surgical hospital and medical building will feature orthopedics and sports medicine among other specialties. According to Sioux Falls-based Avera McKennan Hospital & University Health Center President and CEO David Flicek, the orthopedic and sports medicine clinics will move from the main Sioux Falls campus to the new building.
